Creating Cards

Creating handmade cards for people is easy. Just start out simple at first. All you need is a base and maybe one layer. Take small steps until you are comfortable. Let decorative paper or a large stamp do the majority of the work for you, and add a simple sentiment inside or outside the card. As you practice and become more comfortable with your skills, try adding another layer of cardstock, embellishments, or multiple colors or images. It's okay that your cards don't look like the pictures you see online. No one's does when first starting out. Just keep practicing! Eventually, you'll be stamping, coloring, and die cutting like a pro. You'll be making cards with fancy folds and moving parts. It just takes time and practice. But while you're still in the beginning stages remember that a handmade card—even a simple one—means more to the recipient than a store bought card. I hear that from people all the time.
